Heroes, Beasts and Demons
Behemoth- In the Old Testament (book of Job, verse 40:10), Behemoth is the name for a large animal/monster which plays a part in the Apocalypse and must be killed. In later Christian religion, the Behemoth is identified with Satan.
Throughout the 1800's, Behemoth was described as ruler over the domain of gluttony, and is said to be butler and high cupbearer of hell. Scholars disgree whether behemoth is based on a species of animal that no longer exists or a monstrous demon.
